Flamingos are migratory birds known for their distinctive pink plumage. In India, they are often spotted in wetlands and coastal areas during their migration periods. Flamingos can be observed in coastal areas and wetlands during their migration season.

In India, flamingos are commonly seen in regions like Mumbai, Thane Creek, and other coastal areas during the winter months, particularly from November to March. During this time, they migrate from their breeding grounds in places like Kutch, Gujarat, to warmer regions. They are attracted to these coastal areas due to the availability of food and suitable habitats.

Flamingo Park in Airoli provides a suitable habitat and food source for flamingos, flamingos eat Algae found in the wetland of Thane creek. Algae grows in abundance because of Pollution.

Best time to Visit: November to March

Timings and Entry Fee :
The timings for Monday to Friday are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Saturday, it closes one hour before the weekday timings, i.e., 4:00 PM. The Sanctuary remains closed on Sunday. The Sanctuary
 charges INR 50 per head for adults and INR 25 per head for children as Entry Fee. Only 10-11 participants allowed in a boat .

There is  a small Museum where you can visit  in the Flamingo Park in Airoli

Bus : Buses C-54 , C-513 can be boarded from Airoli railway station and get down in Bharat Ratan Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar bus stop from there 5 mins walking distance.

Food: You can carry your own food , there are many food spots in Airoli
